Our Story
The story of Fulham Broadway Methodist Church stretches back over two centuries — a story of faith, community, and resilience.

Worship first began here around 1811, in a modest building known as Salem Chapel. As the local community grew, so did the congregation, moving into an iron chapel in 1881, which served faithfully for over a decade.

A new chapter began in 1891, when the foundation stone for a beautiful new church, designed by architect Fred Boreham, was laid. The church opened its doors on 7th April 1892, standing as a proud centre of Methodist worship in Fulham.

When that building closed in 1965, the congregation joined Walham Grove Methodist Church until a new purpose-built church opened in 1971, taking on the name we know today — Fulham Broadway Methodist Church.

Following major redevelopment in the area, the current church building was constructed on the same historic site and opened in 2003. It continues to be a place of welcome, worship, and service for all who come through its doors.

Today, our church remains rooted in faith and community — carrying forward a legacy of hope, compassion, and togetherness that has shaped Fulham for over 200 years.
